  I attended Easter Sunday Mass with my family this morning

  today is easter sunday and i attended a family mass with my wife and kids at the local catholic church which we are members of.

  it was "standing room only".

  the entire service was not more than 30 minutes.. routine for us; except for today i actually listened to what the priest had to say.

  New York Cities legendary PLAZA HOTEL will close its doors.....

  this great, worldclass, new york city hotel will close its doors may 1 to be renovated into a pricey co op.

  the great public rooms with some of the most legendary new york architecture will be turned into a shopping mall..... while the exterior of the building has recieved "landmark status" ( must remain untouched and can only be restored with landmark commission approval); the magnificent architectural interior has not recieved this status.. there is a group of us ny architects and citizens fighting to preserve the architectural interior and have a landmark status designation.

  Michael Jackson biography on cable VH1

  i caught the biography while flipping channels last nite and was surprised how much air time was given to the teachings of jehovahs witnesses and speculation on how it may have impacted the later decisions michael jackson made in his life.

  it portrayed jackson the child as a victim of --not only the rigid teachings of jehovahs witnesses; also an abusive father ; dysfunctional family and the demanding rigors of a successful child performer; no childhood at all.

  bill bowen was interviewd and the life of a dedicated jw was accurately portrayed.

  death of a friends child; funeral obligation

  a friend of mine just lost his young 4 year son in a sleigh accident.

  the child ( the same age as my young caroline) sledded down the front hill of his property into the path of an on coming school bus.

  terrible tragedy.. my wife and i ; who have known them for some time; must attend the service this eveing.

  alarming increase of juvenile type 2 diabetes

  i know 3 guys in business whose small preschool children have just been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes; requiring 2 insulin injections daily; and other varying degrees of medical attention due to the diabetes.

  the more i discuss this with people the more i hear about it.

  it almost seems to be at epidemic proportions.

  June 21; its my birthday!

  today is my birthday; i am 48 years old..... i am old enough to realize that patience really is a virtue.... and i am still young enough to apprieciate and enjoy the attributes of youth ( that i took so much for granted when i was a youth).

  i have now been a non jw for longer than i was a jw; i have no regrets.. frank

  My Catholic wife chastised the JWs coming to our door

  my wife just called me to tell me that as she was leaving the house this morning to run some errands, there were 2 " nice looking" ladies coming up our drive.

  we have a 200 foot driveway and she encountered them already on our property approaching the house, just as she was driving out.

  she said she knew they were jws because of the conservative looking clothes and cheap vinyl book bags.
